Das Münchner Startup Isar Aerospace Technologies kann sich über eine erfolgreiche Seedfinanzierung freuen. Neben Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners investiert auch Vito Ventures in das junge Unternehmen. Auch der ehemalige SpaceX Senior Executive David Giger und der Gründer von Global Space Ventures, Bulent Altan, sind an der Finanzierungsrunde beteiligt.
Mit dem frischen Kapital will Isar Aerospace die Entwicklung kleiner Raketenmotoren weiter vorantreiben. Denn vor dem Hintergrund der zunehmenden Privatisierung der Raumfahrtindustrie wird die Nachfrage nach kleineren Trägerraketen, die kostengünstig Nutzlasten wie Satelliten transportieren können, immer größer.
Das Team rund um Daniel Metzler, Gründer und CEO von Isar Aerospace Technologies, arbeitet aktuell an einer Antriebslösung, die Kohlenwasserstoffgemische und flüssigen Sauerstoff miteinander kombiniert und damit zukünftig den konventionellen, aber giftigen Raketentreibstoff Hydrazin überflüssig machen soll. Der Launch dieser neuen Technologie ist für 2021 geplant.
Zugang zur Raumfahrt revolutionieren
Zur erfolgreichen Seedfinanzierung meint Daniel Metzler:
“Our aim is to revolutionize access to space and to make it affordable for everybody. To achieve this, we are starting off by turning our attention to the most complex part of a launch vehicle — the propulsion system. This new investment will enable us to continue the development of our rocket engines, which are cost effective and at the same time considerably more advanced than conventional motors in the same thrust class.”
Und Tommy Oehl, Managing Partner der Vito Ventures GmbH, sagt:
“Although privatization of the space industry is already at an advanced stage, there is still a dearth of convincing European solutions. Through our investment in Isar Aerospace, we want to be at the forefront of this growth area. We were persuaded by the fact that the team is highly experienced despite its young age.
